
In celebration of this year's theme for SF'10, 'Uniting Generations', Steyning Music Society, supported by the Steyning Millennium Trust, present a one hour concert performed by talented musicians, both young and adult. Our thought-provoking programme will include Debussy's Petite Suite arranged for Wind Quintet and the beautiful aria 'Nulla in Mundo' by Vivaldi for solo soprano and string ensemble. Chanctonbury Chorus' summer concert this year celebrates the music of Henry Purcell. The concert includes a number of orchestral and solo items, together with short talks on Purcell and his world, and concludes with a performance of Purcell's masterpiece, Dido and Aeneas, the tragic love story of Dido, Queen of Carthage and the Trojan hero, Aeneas. The Steyning-based Chorus will be joined for the performance by professional soloists, including Lesley-Jane Rogers and Stephen Brown, and its own orchestra under the direction of Siobhan Denning.
