He has been Chief Historian at the FCDO since 2003\, overseeing a team that i s responsible for editing and publishing the official history of British f oreign policy since 1945 and advising the FCDO on how historical research can help provide insight into complex conflicts such as the current Middle East situation. Tom Cargill has been Chief Executive of Wilton Park since January 2021.\n\nSir Patrick will be sharing his experiences and viewpoin ts after 20 years plus at the FCDO.
