Bug Hunt with David Buckett
What’s it about?
Come along to Shooting Field Green for a BUG HUNT and help us with our survey. WHAT WILL WE FIND? Will there be any wood lice, slugs and snails, spiders or worms? we have even found a stag beetle near here! You must bring a parent with you to cover health and safety. Nets and magnifying vessels will be provided.
Steyning for trees and the residents have obtained permission from the managing agents to leave the grass under the trees uncut in summer to encourage invertebrates. We have also planted mini copses, designed by David Buckett, to shelter birds and small mammals as part of our wildlife corridors. These provide shelter and pathways to encourage a variety of species and the exchange of genes (biodiversity).
For 5 – 12 years old who must be accompanied – no charge for accompanying adults
