“How do we become a more equal society, promote better mobility and end inequality”

What’s it about?

With Polly Toynbee

Polly Toynbee is an award-winning journalist, author and broadcaster. She writes a regular
Guardian column, is former BBC Social Affairs Editor and has won the George Orwell prize. She
has always been an outspoken critic of the growing gulf between the rich and poor in Britain. She has often written on minimum wage manual work, taking jobs as an under-cover reporter. She will be talking about her latest book: “An Uneasy Inheritance: My Family and Other Radicals”, about generations of her ancestors who have been committed left-wingers, living comfortable middle class lives with sometimes comically uncomfortable consciences, as well as writing about her own reporting life.

Books will be on sale before/ after the event and there will be an opportunity to get books signed at the end
