Gluck, born Hannah Gluckstein [1895-1978], was a prominent, modern British artist who lived in Steyning for over 30 years. Aged 82 years, Gluck presented a gift of clothing and personal ephemera to Brighton Museum. This formed the starting point for an exhibition and book, both titled Gluck: Art & identity. This extensively illustrated talk will explore Gluck’s art, biography and striking masculine dressed appearance and how these were interpreted within the exhibition by Amy de la Haye, Martin Pel and Jeffrey Horsley.

Tea and cake will be on sale in the café at the end of the talk and Amy would be pleased to hear from anyone who has special memories of Gluck.
