An illustrated talk, with music and dramatic readings, by the ever-popular Janet Pressley exploring key factors (apart from Shakespeare’s extraordinary mind and imagination) that led to the plays: the legacy of the Renaissance and Reformation, the development of London theatre in the sixteenth century and the political and social turbulence of the times. Janet is an experienced Shakespeare scholar who brings thought-provoking, stimulating new insights to her talks. She has spent many years teaching and lecturing both in schools and adult education.

If you are driving, please use the main entrance on the A283 not the one at the end of Mouse Lane. Entry to the house and gardens will be via the Main Entrance only.
