The Servants' Ball, an exciting new band made up of elite performers in the folk world, recreates the atmosphere of a 1930s Sussex village hall dance, including Sussex step-dancing, with audience involvement encouraged! The musicians are all leading traditional music exponents - Rob Harbron (concertina with Leveret, Full English), Ben Nicholls (bass with Jon Boden, Seth Lakeman), Ben Paley (fiddle with Tom Paley, Long Hill Ramblers, Damon Albarn), Ewan Wardrop (actor, dancer, musical comedian) Evan Jenkins (drums with Neil Cowley Trio, Ben Watt) and Julian Hinton (piano with Trevor Horn, Seal). Opening the concert is Shoreham sea shanty group, the Wellington Wailers, who will roar the Festival into life with their uninhibited and entertaining take on songs of the sea! A hugely varied evening of music, song, dance and general merriment is guaranteed from these two bands! Yoga Chef Amore will be on site selling their delicious curry
