The Widerness Yet combines the acclaimed talents of singer Rosie Hodgson, traditional fiddler Rowan Piggott and guitarist-flautist Philippe Barnes.

With a voice that brings “ruby-richness to lyrics new and old” (Folk Radio UK) Rosie, originally from West Sussex, recorded her debut album Rise Aurora in 2016 to critical acclaim. Rowan, a traditional musician who grew up on the west coast of Ireland, was the winner of the “Future of Young Folk Award” at Bromyard Folk Festival, and is a fiddler of great skill and sensitivity. Philippe is well-known on the folk scene as a virtuosic flautist and also a magnificent guitarist.

Together they weave an eclectic tapestry of traditional and original songs and tunes. Mark Radcliffe on the Radio 2 Folk Show said of their album “this is something timely. . . The Wilderness Yet have released a lovely album with gorgeous artwork . . . autumnal and rustic”.

They will be supported by a Festival band made up of local folk musicians.
