Downs events information that you need to know

If you are thinking of booking one of the Downlands Events or have already booked one please read the relevant “Need to know” section below which contains important information about what to expect.

Art in Nature with Rob Wintz

Need to know:
Please note: this is an adult nature connection event, but young people aged 16+ are welcome if accompanied by a parent or guardian.

This event may involve up to a 2 mile (3.2km) walk over uneven terrain.

Good footwear and thick trousers are essential, as we may be kneeling down close to the ground.

Sorry, no dogs except support dogs.

Parking: Please do not park on Mouse Lane. Walk if you can to the event. Visitors should park in Steyning town centre car parks. Please let us know when booking if you require disabled access parking (due to the limited nature of this parking, this will only be for those who hold a Blue Badge).

Toilets: There are no on-site toilet facilities, but bush wees are most definitely welcome (children should be overseen by a parent/guardian). Otherwise, local public toilets (including disabled access) are just under 1 mile away (10 minutes’ walk for an adult or 20–30 minutes’ walk for a child) in Steyning High Street car park.

Bring a bottle of water.

Clothing: Please wear stout footwear and clothing appropriate for the weather. A hat and sun cream are advised on sunny days. Ticks can be a problem in any long grassland, so long trousers tucked into socks are advised.

Photography: Publicity photos may be taken at your event. If you do not wish to be photographed, please let your group leader know on arrival.

Accessibility information: This event includes walking along steep, narrow, uneven, grassy paths which can become very muddy after rainfall.

This event may be cancelled in the case of bad weather or low attendance. In each case, we will endeavour to reschedule or refund your booking.
