How did an acclaimed sculptor working in her studio at the Knepp Estate become a sound recordist? Hazel Reeves will be sharing some of her favourite nature recordings and telling us the story of how she is now harnessing the sounds of nature to tell stories of hope. She will be chatting on-stage to Matt Phelps, Lead ecologist on the Knepp Estate about their favourite sounds of nature.
A well-known sculptor, during lockdown Hazel began on a whole new creative adventure, recording the changing soundscape at the Knepp Estate as rewilding progresses there. Her passion is to create immersive soundscape experiences to bring people closer to nature, closer to each other. This year the Soundscapes of Hope installation comes to Steyning Parish Church.
