A special invitation – An Audience with Sir Patrick Salmon
To mark the 80th anniversary of Wilton Park, the executive agency of the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) based at Wiston House, and the 20th anniversary of Steyning Festival, we are pleased to present a Q&A session with Sir Patrick Salmon, chief historian at the FCDO, to be chaired by Tom Cargill, Chief Executive at Wilton Park.
Sir Patrick is a historian of diplomatic history with a focus on Scandinavia. He has been Chief Historian at the FCDO since 2003, overseeing a team that is responsible for editing and publishing the official history of British foreign policy since 1945 and advising the FCDO on how historical research can help provide insight into complex conflicts such as the current Middle East situation. Tom Cargill has been Chief Executive of Wilton Park since January 2021.
Sir Patrick will be sharing his experiences and viewpoints after 20 years plus at the FCDO. Those in attendance will be given the opportunity to submit questions for Sir Patrick to consider.
